Not all photography news is awesome and happy, and the loudest discussion I heard yesterday in the photo space surrounded allegations of plagiarism among two high-profile photographers scheduled to speak at WPPI’s annual event.
A change.org petition has been started urging the WPPI organizers to remove the two individuals from the program.
WPPI has responded with a vague blog post indicating that they’re listening to the community, but it seems they’re weighing options before possibly taking action.
We hear of stolen photos fairly frequently, but rarely does it land with two very big names. It will be interesting to see how things play out.
Note: Daily Photo Thing has no information as to the truth of the allegations but is merely reporting on the existence of the situation
